General Manager’s Profile
Mr. Edwin John Bennet joined TSU in Dec 2013 to head its team as General Manager. He is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and College of Defence Management, Secunderabad with Masters in Management Studies. He is a life member of AIMA and has been a faculty in BSF Academy and training centres as trainer for Gazetted Officers
He has excellent experience in project management, team building, and training of staff and has been associated with many projects in HR and resource management. He has worked in command and staff appointments at every level in Border policing, LoC environment, Counter Insurgency, Counter Terrorism operations, Anti-Naxal duties and as a member of UN International Police Task Force.
As head of training centre in North Bengal, he was instrumental in promoting non-lethal methods in peace time duties and his training centre was designated as BSF Centre for Non-Lethal Strategy to train trainers and conduct studies on non-lethal methods.
For his outstanding contribution of service to the nation he was awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2008 by the President of India. He is also a recipient of UN Medal for his contribution to peace keeping operations with UNMIK. He has also been awarded four Director General’s commendations for his achievements.
He is a result oriented, highly energetic, hands-on professional manager with a successful record of exemplary accomplishments in his career. His strong leadership, attention to details, competent administrative skills and a clear vision to accomplish the set goals will be his strengths in his new assignment in TSU.
